CASH IN FOR CASHMERE
Why the soft fuzz is worth the investment
Step away from the cable knits and cosy up to must-have, ultra-soft cashmere this season. From key piece sweaters to more subtle accessories, upgrade your wool to knitwear you’ll never look back on.
Give in to the softest hug you’ll ever receive in soft finishes and eye-catching colours. The luxe texture will have you wanting to wear this every day – so one in every colour it is then.
If the warmth of a cashmere sweater is just a little too much, upgrade your accessories with the finest cashmere touch. From your head to your toes, nothing can complain.
Pure cashmere can be a little too warm on the feet, so opt for cashmere and silk blends in socks. We say full cashmere for scarves though, you can never feel too cosy.
There's no such thing as too much when it comes to cashmere – from your loungewear to ponchos and cardigans, layer up that luxurious feeling to your heart’s content.
You've spent the pennies, now you want to savour them for as long as you can. These little tips will help you make sure you get the most out of your investments.
HOW SHOULD I CLEAN MY CASHMERE?
Contrary to belief you can hand wash your cashmere. Ensure the basin you are cleaning in is spotless as to avoid any stains. Make sure the water is lukewarm, no more. Use either a specially-made cashmere detergent or baby shampoo as it must be as gentle as possible – turn the garment inside out and submerge, gently squeezing the cleaner through it, do not squeeze or twist.
Spot treat any tougher-stained areas and only use your fingertips to ensure product is working its way through stains – leave the garment to soak for 10 minutes. Drain out the sink, rinsing the garment in the same temperature water as you started with to ensure the water runs clear.
Press out any remaining water and then lay your garment flat, on top of a towel and away from a radiator to ensure it keeps its shape. Do not hang or twist dry as this will make your clothing lose its shape.
HOW SHOULD I STORE MY CASHMERE?
When storing away, ensure the area is clean and deter moths by using any form of anti-moth repellent; that’s moth balls, paper lining or scented sachets.
Ideally, wrap cashmere in tissue paper to preserve the original colour and it protects against dust and damp.
